Mori
Mori - 1999 :
"Mori is an Internet-based earthwork that engages the earth as a living medium. In this installation, minute movements of the Hayward Fault in California are detected by a seismograph, converted to digital signals, and transmitted continuously via the Internet to the installation. The title links the Japanese term for 'forest-sanctuary' with the Latin 'reminder of mortality.' In 'Mori,' the immediacy of the telematic embrace between earth and visitor questions the authenticity of mediated experience in the context of chance, human fragility, and geological endurance."

The new season of garajistanbul takes off with a festive new-media event. “CitySense” –garajistanbul’s opening surpise of sound, smell, taste installations, performances, and short films by Dutch and Turkish artists- is ng curated by Nat Muller, in collaboration with Başak Şenova (NOMAD), and takes place on September 20th and 21st, 2008

"Taking place concurrent with the prestigious Art Forum Berlin, Bridge will take over an entire apartment complex and courtyard, using every available space in the 19-unit, 3-story OTA Berlin as temporary gallery space. An international roster of galleries will both share individual rooms and use whole apartments for themselves. Whether showing with “roommates” or exhibiting alone, Bridge Berlin galleries will present their work as if it were on view in a private collector’s home."

The Upgrade! International
The meeting theme "Chain Reaction" illustrates the network itself, the way it works and functions, correlates and interacts. The Upgrade! International started as a creative spark that gradually grew into an international group of nodes influencing each other continually through permanent communication. The meeting gathers Upgrade! nodes into one core event in Macedonia and will hopefully cause a positive chain reaction. Upgrade! network gathers annually or bi-annually, each time in a different city for a festival by artists who participated in the Upgrade! meetings around the world.

Ars Electronica Symposium 2008 -
Das Ars Electronica Symposium 2008 wird von Joichi Ito(JP) kuratiert – Aktivist, Entrepreneur, Investor für Risikokapital. Joichi Ito ist der Geschäftsführer von Creative Commons, einer Non-Profit-Organisation, die AutorInnen, WissenschaftlerInnen, KünstlerInnen und PädagogInnen freie Tools zur Verfügung stellt, mit denen sie auf einfache Weise in verschiedenen „Freiheitsgraden“ anderen zur Nutzung zur Verfügung stellen können. Er ist Mitbegründer und Vorstandsmitglied von Digital Garage in Japan und gehört dem Vorstand einer Reihe von Non-Profit-Organisationen an, wie zum Beispiel WITNESS, The Mozilla Foundation und Global Voices. Er hat zahlreichen Internetfirmen bei der Unternehmensgründung geholfen oder ihnen als Business Angel zur Seite gestanden, unter anderem PSINet Japan, Infoseek Japan, Flickr, Last.fm, Technorati, Six Apart, Dopplr, Twitter, Socialtext, Kongregate und Rupture.
